The Virginia “Lemon Law” is actually called the Virginia Motor Vehicle Warranty Enforcement Act. The Act covers cars within 18 months of delivery. As such, older vehicles are not generally not protected by the act.

The Federal Magnusson Moss Warranty Act does provide protection for vehicles, still under a manufacturer’s warranty. In certain cases, your case may only be good for 4 years after purchase.
